Tentative Agreement In Sandoval Gay Marriage War
Sandoval County Clerk Victoria Dunlap and Attorney General Patricia Madrid have reportedly reached a tentative settlement in their dispute over same-sex marriage. Both sides refuse to discuss the details of the tentative agreement citing instructions from the judge in the case.

A State District judge has rejected an effort by Sandoval County Clerk Victoria Dunlap to resume issuing same-sex marriage licenses. Dunlap has been battling New Mexico Attorney General Patricia Madrid since February over the constitutionality of denying same-sex couples the right to marry.

New Mexico's Attorney General has told the state Supreme Court there is no legal justification to permit same-sex marriage. Patricia Madrid called on the court to dismiss a case brought by Sandoval County Clerk Victoria Dunlap who wants to resume issuing marriage licenses to gay couples.

Judge Keeps New Mexico Gay Wedding Ban In Place
A New Mexico judge ruled Wednesday that an injunction preventing the issuing a marriage licenses to same-sex couples will remain in place. Sandoval County Clerk Victoria Dunlap said she was prepared to resume issuing the licenses after her attorney advised her a temporary injunction obtained the New Mexico Attorney General had expired.

New Mexico Gay Wedding Ban Heads Back To Court
A district court judge has called Sandoval County Clerk Victoria Dunlap and lawyers for the state Attorney General back to court after Dunlap said she's preparing to start issuing more marriage licenses to same-sex couples. Dunlap issued 66 same-sex marriage licenses on February 20th before the sheriff, acting on instructions from Attorney General Patricia Madrid stepped in and shut down her office.

New Mexico Clerk To Begin Issuing More Gay Marriage Licenses
Sandoval County Clerk Victoria Dunlap is expected to resume issuing marriage licenses to same-sex couples this week despite a court order. Dunlap's attorney, Paul Livingston, Sunday told Albuquerque television station KOB that he has advised her that the court order was "illegally gotten, improper and inappropriate."

NM Gay Marriage Clerk Loses Election
The Sandoval County clerk who issued marriage licenses to several dozen same-sex couples in February has lost her bid for a seat on the county commission.
Victoria Dunlap received 76 votes while her opponent, political newcomer Chris Espinosa, got 199. The results will be not be official until state election officials certify the votes in about three weeks.

New Mexico GOP Censures Sandoval Clerk Over Gay Marriages
The New Mexico Republican Central Committee has voted to censure the Sandoval County clerk, who issued marriage licenses to same-sex couples. The resolution says Republican Victoria Dunlap has brought disgrace to the party. "Other than assassination, all we can do is censure her," said committee chairman Richard Gibbs.
